B'day card test....

I have a birthday card here, four days early....hummmm!!! Do I open it? I've been told no already, but I actually, already know who it's from. So in theory, I have already opened the card....no, wait!

The fact is I get excited to see who they're from...especially if they came in the post, like this one did (well my nanna went out the door and then posted it through, but it still counts ;) and well,I know who it's from.....what exactly am I waiting for?!

Maybe it's one of those social contract thingies...ya' know, something you just don't do. But then again, it is something you would say to a five year old, "....It's not your birthday, yet! Don't open it!"

Who is actually bothered? Seriously, I'll be 32 next week and I'm fussing myself whether to open this card or not! IT'S MINE! Lol...

But it is one of those things that I do....I would feel better about opening it ON my birthday, as it will probably be my only one...boo hoo! Arrrhhh...a little test to see who reads this..

  • If you know who I am, and will see me between now and Tuesday (which will be my last blog).
  • Hand me a birthday card; big, small, cheap scribble, home-made job, paperchase-made, whatever.
  • If you remember to do this, or if you can be bothered, I will reward you....(a little thank you for reading my blogs, mwah!)

I will open my cards on my birthday....makes it feel special!

Our children...

Just read an Ofsted report on children's homes, online.
Wow, I underestimate what it is to have family around me...some of the children stated that not having your loved ones around was the worst thing about being in care.

I assumed that it was only orphans who lived in care homes, but I came to realise that it is children who for some reason or another can't stay with their own family. And that it is staff on shifts who continually look after them, even sleeping over!
Man, I pray for these people; the children and the workers.

Will you join me, just read and agree in Jesus' name.

  • That God's will be done in their lives, on earth as it is in heaven.
  • That the love of Father God will encompass them.
  • That God will keep them from the evil one.
  • That He would mend and restore their lives.
  • That He would cover them with His grace.
  • That the government will continue to care for and protect our vunerable children, by the grace of God and His wisdom.
  • That any 'evils' within the system would be exposed and disposed of (God knows who and what they are).
For every single children's home in the uk, and over the world, in the name of Jesus. Yes and amen!

Thank you!

James

"I wanna a heart that trembles...."
Man, do I need understanding!! The way I interpret things isn't always the way it is, thank God we can ask Him.

The book of James, states "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach (fault finding), and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith..." (1:5,6)

You...

Let me share a poem....probably would be better spoken, but here goes....

You are my come down
Back to reality,
When everything's said and done
You are one, we are one
It's to You I come, my heart has been won
No easy prize at first-it was rock,
Built from knocks and bricks of hurt that block...
Out pain, out the shame, out the art to trust again
Like it was a game, with more hide then seek,
From behind my mask-I peek, and caught a glimpse of a freak,
Freaks that seek-Jesus for keeps, but keep Him they did not
Freely they gave Him, because He had been given,
That whoever would take Him would be for-given.
Took Him I did, and alive, He lives,
He is my reality and real is His love.

Woop! Woop!

Teach me....

Again God has blown me away with His goodness...He is sooooo precious! He knows exactly what we need.

And He protects us from ourselves....believe me I would do everything if given the opportunity, and most of the time I am!

But God is gracious enough to whisper when I'm doing too much or something that might seem 'good' but won't benefit me for now, or in the long run.

Listen up 'cause He's calling out....just like wisdom in the book of Proverbs...calling out to those who will seek her counsel (kinda paraphrased).

Beautiful song I found on itunes...

Wise or Wanton....

Ten more days to go....

Been reading the book of Proverbs, wow, there's some good stuff in there!

Great wisdom, I feel has rubbed off on me - just from reading a couple of chapters....it's making me aware of my foolishness, and laziness!
It, more or less, begins warning men to pursue wisdom and not adulterous women, and though I haven't got there yet, I know it ends with a 'day in the life' of a wise woman; one to be admired.

  • " For the lips of an adulteress drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil; but in the end she is bitter as gall, sharp as a double-edged sword." Proverbs 5:3,4 (NIV)

  • " Charm is deceptive and beauty does not last, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31:30 (NLT)

I wanna be the second one....  :)

Toodaloo...

Wondered today why I'm so polite in the public loos! I normally go into the cubicle to put on deodrant...why? I mean, it's not like women don't know that we all wear deodrant! And there's countless times I've seen women preening, putting make-up.

Am I the only one who goes into the cubicle?! I mean, I could understand if it was an aerosol or something, but it's an underarm 'smooth-on' thingy!

Well today I put it on facing the mirror, fully aware of the looks I was getting; I kinda imagined it to be a changing room.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I didn't strip off! Just ya' know, hitched up my jumper dress whilst still wearing my coat ( ok, so that could have been what the looks were for! Maybe ;)

Look, there was more room out there than in the cubicle!
