Little by little....step by step...

Walking through the snow was so tough today! Felt like I wasn't getting anywhere, no matter how hard I worked at it. But the good news is that I made it to the bus and finally home!

It made me think about life and how sometimes to get to our goals it's a hard slog. We are working our hardest to get there, but no matter how much energy we put into it, we seem to be getting nowhere.

The only thing, during the walking, that made me aware of any progress were the things around me...the fences, the traffic lights, the people. They were all evidence to my brain that I was indeed moving forward. So how do we know we're moving forward in life?
It's the things around you....what's surrounding you that wasn't there before? Who's with you? Can they see any change?

Good if you can learn from what others see, but lately I'm learning that writing things down helps as a landmark...whether it's in a diary, in your phone as a note or text to yourself, or maybe what I've tried, a letter to God...it really helped see where I was. Months later, I found that I no longer felt that way and had progressed into a new way of thinking, also God had answered my prayers!

Keep making those steps, no matter how small....I don't know what your goals are, but we tend to have a generic few...eating healthier, doing your essays earlier, brushing your teeth more often (ok, maybe that's just me!)...lol....

  •   "Without counsel, plans go awry (twisted), but in the multitude of counselors they are established." Proverbs 15:22
  • "The steps of a good man are established by the Lord, and He delights in his way." Psalm 37:23
  • "There are many plans in a man's heart, nevertheless the Lord's counsel--that will stand." Proverbs 19:21

"Spare my feelings." When was the last time you heard that?

Poses the question; Do people say what they really mean? Do they hold back? And why? Well, of course it's for all sorts of reasons. Saves embarrassment, awkwardness and to be honest we're sometimes afraid of how the other person will react.

Okay, if a friend was to have a washing label sticking out of their waistband, would you tell them/tuck it in for them? Probably! But would you tell a stranger? How about if they had some toothpaste on their eyebrow? *Huh, huh* Or they wanted your 'honest' feedback for something they'd done or bought?
It's easy when you like it or it's fun, but what about the times when maybe that colour doesn't quite suit her or those trainers he bought were naff (Lol, if you're not used to that word, I'm sure it's in the dictionary- under nineties!). What if your relationship was going down hill? Would you have the courage to address it?

Seriously, I think there's a fine line between 'hitting 'em' with it, and masking the truth. And personally, I would rather someone tell me the truth kindly than not tell me at all.

  • "Open rebuke (telling off) is better than love carefully concealed. Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful." Proverbs 27:5,6

  • "Ointment and perfume delight the heart, and the sweetness of a man's friend gives delight by counsel of the soul." Proverbs 27:9

  • "A man who flatters his neighbour spreads a net for his feet." Proverbs 29:5

Joke, anyone?!

Blogger challenge

 Can I upkeep a blog?

 I'm giving myself two months,
59 days exactly....of talking (trust me, it ain't hard!). The tricky bit is having something worth reading! *nod, nod*

So, I hope if you've stumbled across this page by accident, it gives you a bit of joy...

How? Oh I don't know...

Maybe a joke, I made one up today...ready? Cool!

Q: "Why did the Orangutan cross the road?

A: He wants to be like yooouu hhooo hooo!"

Now some have said that it's cheesy....but it made me laugh!
Ok, so that's not a good measurement, 'cause I laugh at anything!

But it makes me think that people have forgotten how to laugh at the simple things, these days.

Tell it to your friends, see if they laugh...I tell you what, I will update you with how many people actually laughed when I share it this week.
