From the streets of Manhattan, New York....a shiny new building catching the sun.

"Spare my feelings." When was the last time you heard that?

Poses the question; Do people say what they really mean? Do they hold back? And why? Well, of course it's for all sorts of reasons. Saves embarrassment, awkwardness and to be honest we're sometimes afraid of how the other person will react.

Okay, if a friend was to have a washing label sticking out of their waistband, would you tell them/tuck it in for them? Probably! But would you tell a stranger? How about if they had some toothpaste on their eyebrow? *Huh, huh* Or they wanted your 'honest' feedback for something they'd done or bought?
It's easy when you like it or it's fun, but what about the times when maybe that colour doesn't quite suit her or those trainers he bought were naff (Lol, if you're not used to that word, I'm sure it's in the dictionary- under nineties!). What if your relationship was going down hill? Would you have the courage to address it?

Seriously, I think there's a fine line between 'hitting 'em' with it, and masking the truth. And personally, I would rather someone tell me the truth kindly than not tell me at all.

  • "Open rebuke (telling off) is better than love carefully concealed. Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful." Proverbs 27:5,6

  • "Ointment and perfume delight the heart, and the sweetness of a man's friend gives delight by counsel of the soul." Proverbs 27:9

  • "A man who flatters his neighbour spreads a net for his feet." Proverbs 29:5
